The Face That Launched a Thousand Blog Posts
8:15AM: Jason Calacanis publishes the latest in a brilliant series of linkbaits. By 6:00 PM, he’s got 30+ blog posts mentioning him and linking, of course. And the number keeps going up and up. This is the face that launched a thousand(or at least a few dozen) blog posts:

Cute, huh? Calacanis finds all posts about him by subscribing to search feeds for all blogs mentioning his name. I know that Scoble does that same thing. I wonder how many other top bloggers religiously trawl Technorati regularly looking for positive mentions of their name.
Does Seth Godin? He sure has some pretty sweet graphs on his blog. Or Guy Kawasaki? His interviews are as poignant as they are hard-hitting. Darren Rowse blogs about blogging so you know he’s got to be up to date on every post concerning anything even remotely related to him, plus he tells great stories. And Steve Rubel has got to read tons of feeds, because he’s basically writing a link blog at this point. And what amazing links they are.
I love sycophancy.
